Cookie Policy
Document: DOC 8
Version: 2.0
Effective date: 1 August 2026
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are used to make websites work correctly, remember your preferences, and provide information to website operators about how visitors use their site.
Similar technologies — including pixels, local storage objects, and session storage — work in a comparable way and are referred to collectively as "cookies" throughout this Policy.
This Cookie Policy applies solely to stoodio.io, the Stoodio institutional website and platform. If you are visiting an artist's website powered by Stoodio (e.g. artistname.stoodio.io), please refer to the Cookie Policy published on that artist's website.
2. Legal Framework
Our use of cookies on stoodio.io is governed by the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (UK PECR) and, in respect of personal data processed through cookies, by the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
For visitors accessing stoodio.io from the European Economic Area, the EU ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC) as implemented in the relevant member state also applies.
Under these laws, we are required to obtain your consent before placing any cookies on your device that are not strictly necessary for the website to function. We seek your consent via the cookie banner displayed when you first visit stoodio.io.
3. Categories of Cookies We Use
3.1 Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are essential for stoodio.io to operate and cannot be switched off. They are set in response to actions you take, such as logging in to your artist account, setting your privacy preferences, or filling in a form. They do not require your consent and do not store personally identifiable information beyond what is strictly required.
3.2 Analytics and performance cookies
These cookies collect information about how visitors use stoodio.io — for example, which pages are visited most often, how long visitors spend on each page, and how visitors arrived at the site. We use this information to improve stoodio.io and to understand the performance of our marketing and communications.
We also use analytics data from stoodio.io — combined with analytics data from artist websites on the platform — to develop platform-wide market intelligence, which may be shared with Art Sector Partners in accordance with our Privacy Policy (DOC 7, Section 3.3). The placement of these cookies requires your consent under UK PECR. The legal basis under GDPR for the subsequent sharing of data with Art Sector Partners is described in Section 3.3 of the Privacy Policy.
- These cookies are only set if you have given your consent via the cookie banner.
- You may withdraw consent at any time via the cookie settings link in the footer of stoodio.io.
3.3 Functional cookies
These cookies allow stoodio.io to remember choices you make and provide enhanced features. For example, they remember your language preference or whether you have previously dismissed a notification. They may be set by us or by third-party providers whose services are embedded in stoodio.io.
- These cookies are only set if you have given your consent via the cookie banner.
3.4 Marketing cookies
Where Stoodio runs paid marketing campaigns (for example, via Meta Ads or Google Ads), marketing cookies may be used to measure the effectiveness of those campaigns, attribute sign-ups and conversions, and support retargeting. These cookies are operated by third-party providers who act as independent data controllers.
No marketing cookies are currently set. If Stoodio introduces them, this table and the consent banner will be updated first.
- These cookies are only set if you have given your explicit consent via the cookie banner.
- You may opt out of interest-based advertising at any time via your browser settings or via the relevant third-party provider's opt-out tools.
3.5 A note on artist website analytics
Stoodio also collects analytics data from artist websites powered by the platform (e.g. artistname.stoodio.io). That data collection is governed by the Cookie Policy published on each artist website, not by this Policy. Stoodio's own processing of data collected on artist websites is described in the Stoodio Privacy Policy, Section 9. However, Stoodio may aggregate and combine data from artist websites with data collected on stoodio.io for platform-wide analytics and market intelligence purposes, as described in Section 9 of the Privacy Policy (DOC 7).

5. How We Obtain and Manage Your Consent
When you first visit stoodio.io, a cookie consent banner is displayed. The banner allows you to:
- Accept all cookies (strictly necessary, analytics, functional, and marketing).
- Accept only strictly necessary cookies.
- Customise your preferences by category.
Your preferences are stored in the stoodio_cookie_consent cookie and applied on all subsequent visits. You may change your preferences at any time by clicking the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of stoodio.io.
The consent banner presents the following purposes separately, allowing you to consent to each independently:
- Analytics cookies used by Stoodio to understand usage of stoodio.io.
- Analytics cookies used by Stoodio for platform-wide market intelligence (combined data from stoodio.io and artist websites).
- Marketing cookies used to measure advertising campaign performance.
Consent is entirely voluntary. Refusing non-essential cookies will not prevent you from accessing stoodio.io or its public content, though some features may be limited if functional cookies are declined.
